"Blue Velvet" was a bonus painting while I was doing a commission for a collector. She provided this beautiful bowl so I set up many still lifes with it and the hydrangeas. While the commission was more muted and higher in key, "Blue Velvet" became a study in strong light and harmonious indigo colors.
